This suspension system consists of two "ring buckles" which are each tied to a loop af 1/8" Black amsteel (rated to 2500 lbs.) and a pair of 15' tree straps made from polyester seatbelt webbing (rated to 3000 lbs.).The rings are SMC Descending Rings which are designed for rock climbing and rated to 14kN each (3147 lbs.)! 2"OD & 1.5"ID. The straps have a 6" folded loop sewn with 4 bar tacks on each end. We will install the ring buckles & amsteel loops with the purchase of any Switchback or LightHiker hammock. Use of this system is quite simple. Run the strap around the tree at about eye level and run one end through the loop on the other end and cinch it down snugly. Take the loose end of the strap and run it UP through the center of the rings, over the top ring and behind the lower ring, pulling the loose end back towards the tree. Ensure the strap runs straight through the rings opposite the point where the amsteel is tied to the rings, Repeat on the other end and adjust as necessary.
